EJ Marino, Jr. brings more than two decades of hands-on experience building, operating, and successfully exiting founder-owned and family-owned businesses. His career has spanned operational leadership, strategic growth, and transaction execution — experience that directly informs his advisory work with business owners today.
Prior to founding Logos Capital Strategies, EJ was Chief Executive Officer of Plantation Patterns LLC, a designer and manufacturer of premium outdoor furnishings sold through leading national retailers including Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Costco. Under his leadership, the company became an industry leader, earning multiple retailer awards for execution, innovation, and product design. In 2016, Plantation Patterns was successfully sold to NBG Home, a portfolio company of Kohlberg & Company.
Earlier in his career, EJ spent over 20 years in his family’s business, Shop-A-Snak Food Mart, founded by his father in 1964. What began as a local grocery operation evolved into a leading convenience store chain spanning North Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. The family enterprise also included Marco Petroleum, one of Alabama’s largest ExxonMobil distributors, and Greensprings Associates, a real estate development company. EJ served as President of the operating companies at the time they were sold to The Pantry, Inc. (Kangaroo Express) in 2006.
EJ graduated with honors from Auburn University with a B.S. in Accountancy.

EJ Marino III brings a transaction-focused perspective to Logos Capital Strategies, with experience advising founder-owned businesses through mergers, acquisitions, and liquidity events. His background spans sell-side investment banking, deal execution, and financial analysis, providing clients with guidance throughout the transaction process.
Prior to Logos Capital Strategies, EJ worked in sell-side investment banking at Founders Advisors, a boutique firm specializing in founder-owned companies across the Southeast. As an associate on the Industrials team, he supported transaction execution across a range of engagements, working closely with business owners on valuation, marketing, diligence, and deal structuring.
EJ graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Accountancy from Auburn University and magna cum laude with an M.S. in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.
